Buy it once. Pay for new features only if you want them.

Bug fixes are part of the product you bought, not a subscription. New work is paid for by the people who want it, a year at a time, and you can stop whenever you like and keep what you have.

What needs a licence, and what does not

Needs a licence

The system that holds your library and plays: the Verity Server, or the desktop Player when it is your system. One activation per installed server or player (3 with the licence, 5 with Founder or a subscription).

Never needs a licence

The apps: iPhone, iPad, Android, and the desktop app in client mode. They connect to your licensed system, at home or through the Relay. Up to 10 of them per licence, included.

More than ten?

Buy ten more for €15, once, as often as you need. The apps themselves stay free.

Add-ons for the licence

Update Pass

€19a year

New features, while you want them.

  • Every new-feature release published while the pass is active
  • Stop any time and keep the last version you were entitled to
  • No auto-renew unless you turn it on
Add to a key
This is the recurring fee. It pays for new work, never for bug fixes.

Major upgrade

€29once

One version step, one payment.

  • Raises a lifetime key by one major version
  • Bug fixes for the new major version, for as long as we exist
Add to a key
The alternative to the Update Pass for people who upgrade rarely.

Ten more clients

€15once

For big households.

  • Raises the number of apps that may connect to your system by ten
  • Buy it as often as you need
  • Apps themselves never need a licence
Add to a key
Every licence already includes ten connected apps.

Relay Coming

€12a year

Your home system, on the go.

  • Reach your home library from anywhere without opening a port
  • End-to-end encrypted: the relay carries bytes it cannot read
  • Included in the subscription
Arrives with the Verity Server. On sale the day it launches.

What a release does to your licence

1.0you buy1.0.1bug fix · yours1.0.2bug fix · yours1.1feature · Update Pass1.2feature · Update Pass2.0major · upgrade or Pass

Bug-fix releases always reach you. Feature releases reach you while an Update Pass is active, or after a major upgrade. A subscription gets every release.

The terms, in plain words

What does "bug fixes forever" mean?

Every bug-fix release of the major version you bought is yours, for as long as Verity exists. A bug-fix release changes no features. If we ship it, you get it. No expiry, no re-purchase.

What is a new-feature release?

A release whose notes add capability: a new output protocol, a new view, a new DSP stage. Those are paid for by the Update Pass (€19 a year) or a one-off major upgrade (€29). The update check asks the licence server what your key may install before it offers anything, so you are never surprised by a build you cannot use.

I stop paying the Update Pass. What happens?

Nothing dramatic. You keep the last version you were entitled to and every bug-fix release for that major version. You can pick the pass up again later.

How many computers?

A licence key allows 3 activations at once (Founder and subscription 5, demo 2). An activation is an installed server or desktop player. An activation that has been silent for 30 days is freed automatically, so reinstalling never eats a slot, and you can release one yourself from the account page.

Do the phone and tablet apps need a licence?

No. The iPhone, iPad and Android apps, and the desktop app in client mode, connect to your licensed system and never need a key of their own. Ten of them can connect per licence; ten more cost €15 once, as often as you need.

Does it phone home?

Once at activation, then at most once a day while online, and only when the 14-day signed token is within 3 days of expiry does it need to. It sends the key, a device fingerprint (a hash), the device name you chose, platform and version. Never anything about the music.

What if the internet is down?

The token keeps working until it expires. Playback only locks after 14 days with no successful check, and it says why.

Refunds?

14 days from purchase, no questions, as EU consumer law requires and as we would want ourselves. Demo first if you are unsure.

Which platforms?

Windows today (0.1.1). macOS and Linux later on the same core. A licence is per person, not per platform.

VAT and currency?

Prices are in EUR. VAT is added at checkout where applicable. The payment provider is not connected yet; orders placed now are recorded and settled by hand (see the account page).
